How to use an automatic transmission in a Hyundai Solaris:
1. Starting the engine:
*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear selector to “P” (park).
* Turn the ignition key to the “On” position.
* Start the engine.
2. Gear shift:
* While holding the brake pedal, move the gear selector to the desired position (D, R, N, P).
* As you release the brake pedal, the vehicle will begin to move.
D (Drive): Used for normal driving.
R (Reverse): Used for reversing.
N (Neutral): Used to disconnect the transmission from the engine, for example when towing or when coming to a complete stop.
P (Park): Used for parking.
3. Switch to parking mode:
* Stop the car.
*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear selector to position “P”.
* Turn off the engine.
* Apply the parking brake.
Additional features:
“Sport” mode: Gear changes occur at higher engine speeds, which provides increased dynamics.
“Eco” mode: Gear changes occur at lower engine speeds, which saves fuel.
Manual mode: By using “+” (up) and “-” (down) on the gear selector, you can manually change gears.
Snow mode: Provides better traction in winter conditions, starting from second gear.
Warnings:
* Do not shift to “P” position while driving.
* Do not shift to “N” position on slopes.
* When switching to “P” mode, it may take some time for the parking lock to engage. Always apply the parking brake when parking on a slope.
