Tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission oil (Mopar ATF+4 or equivalent) — about 7-8 liters
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* Automatic transmission pan
* 10 mm hex key
* 13 mm hex key
*Torque key
* Funnel
*Clean rags or paper towels
* Lift or jacks and supports
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car on a lift or jack it up and place it on supports.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Place a pan under the vehicle to collect used oil.
2. Draining used oil:
* Remove the automatic transmission pan bolts with a 13 mm hex wrench.
* Carefully remove the pan from the transmission to drain the used oil.
* Clean the pan and remove the old oil filter.
3. Installing a new filter:
* Install a new oil filter into the automatic transmission pan.
* Make sure the filter gasket is installed correctly.
4. Installing a new pan gasket:
* Clean the surface of the pan and the automatic transmission housing from the remnants of the old gasket.
* Install a new gasket on the pan.
5. Pallet installation:
* Attach the pan to the automatic transmission housing and tighten the bolts with a 13 mm hex key.
* Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to 25 Nm.
6. Filling with new oil:
* Using a funnel, fill the automatic transmission with new oil (about 4 liters).
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes while shifting gears.
* Check the oil level with the automatic transmission dipstick. Add more oil if necessary.
7. Final check:
* Clean the automatic transmission dipstick with a clean cloth.
* Insert the dipstick back into the tube and pull it out.
* Check the oil level on the dipstick. It should be between the «COLD» and «HOT» marks.
*If the oil level is low, add a little more oil.
* If the oil level is higher, drain the excess through the drain plug.
8. Resetting the automatic transmission oil change counter:
*Connect the OBD-II diagnostic scanner to the vehicle.
* Go to the automatic transmission service section.
* Find the option to reset the automatic transmission oil change counter.
*Follow the instructions on the scanner screen to reset the counter.
Notes:
* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000 — 90,000 km.
*Use only manufacturer recommended oil (Mopar ATF+4 or equivalent).
*If you do not have experience with automatic transmissions, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
