Transmission reliability
1. Automatic transmission (AT)
* Relatively reliable, with proper maintenance it can last several hundred thousand kilometers.
* Shifts gears smoothly, ensuring driving comfort.
*May be less fuel efficient than other transmissions.
2. CVT
*Transmits power smoothly, without shifting steps.
* Provides high fuel efficiency.
* May be less reliable than automatic transmission, especially with high mileage and improper maintenance.
3. Robotic gearbox (manual transmission)
* Combination of manual and automatic transmissions.
* May be more economical than automatic transmission.
* Often has rough gear changes, which can reduce driving comfort.
Reliability in comparison
In general, automatic transmission is considered the most reliable among these three transmissions. A CVT may be more reliable than a manual transmission, but it is still inferior to an automatic transmission. Manual transmission is considered the least reliable due to its complex mechanism.
However, it is important to note that transmission reliability largely depends on proper maintenance, driving style and operating conditions. With proper care, all three types of transmissions can last a long time.
