Required materials:

* About 7 liters of Mercedes-Benz transmission fluid 236.14 (ATF 134 FE)
* New automatic transmission oil pan plug
* New automatic transmission oil pan gasket
* Container for draining old oil
* Funnel
* 12 mm socket wrench or ratchet screwdriver
* 8 mm hexagon

Instructions:

1. Prepare the vehicle: Place the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake and allow the engine to cool.

2. Remove the crankcase guard: If your vehicle has a crankcase guard, it must be removed by unscrewing a few bolts.

3. Unscrew the drain plug: Locate the drain plug on the automatic transmission oil pan. Use a socket wrench or 12mm ratchet screwdriver to remove it.

4. Drain the old oil: Place a drain container under the drain plug and collect the old transmission fluid. Let it drain completely.

5. Remove the oil pan: Once all the oil has drained, use an 8mm hex socket to remove the bolts holding the automatic transmission oil pan. Carefully remove the pan and drain the remaining oil.

6. Clean the oil pan and gasket: Wipe the oil pan with a clean cloth to remove any old oil. Remove the old gasket and thoroughly clean the contact surfaces on the pan and on the automatic transmission housing.

7. Install a new gasket: Apply some transmission fluid to the new gasket and install it on the oil pan. Make sure the gasket is seated correctly in the grooves.

8. Install the oil pan: Carefully install the oil pan back onto the automatic transmission housing. Tighten the bolts using an 8mm hexagon to the recommended tightening torque (10Nm).

9. Install a new drain plug: Install a new automatic transmission oil pan plug. Tighten it using a 12 mm socket wrench or ratchet screwdriver to the recommended tightening torque (25 Nm).

10. Add new oil: Using a funnel, pour about 5 liters of new transmission fluid into the automatic transmission.

11. Check the oil level: Start the engine and let it idle. Use the transmission fluid dipstick to check the oil level. If necessary, add additional oil to the “hot” mark on the dipstick.

12. Reset the automatic transmission oil change counter: Using a diagnostic scan tool, reset the automatic transmission oil change counter.

13. Install the engine crankcase protection: If you removed the engine crankcase protection, reinstall it.

Important Notes:

* Do not start the engine without transmission fluid.
*Only use transmission fluid recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly and change it according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
