How to remove the gear shift knob on a Volkswagen Touareg:
Materials:
*Torx T20 screwdriver
Steps:
1. Park the car on a level surface and place it in the parking lot.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to cut off the power.
3. Remove the leather cover of the gear shift knob. To do this, insert a Torx T20 screwdriver into the hole under the cover and carefully lift it up.
4. Remove the two Torx T20 screws located under the leather cover.
5. Gently pull up on the shift knob to remove it from the shift rod.
Installation:
1. Align the shift knob with the shift rod and push it in gently.
2. Tighten the two T20 Torx screws.
3. Replace the leather cover.
4. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Note:
* When removing the shift knob, do not yank or pull it forcefully, as this may damage it or the shift rod.
* If the shift knob is difficult to remove, gently tap the base of the shift knob with a small hammer or rubber mallet.
