Automatic transmission adaptation for Volkswagen Jetta 5
Required tools:
* VAG-COM or VCDS diagnostic scanner compatible with VW Jetta 5
* Laptop or PC with VAG-COM/VCDS software installed
* Cable for connecting the diagnostic scanner to the car
Instructions:
1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle.
2. Open VAG-COM/VCDS software on your laptop.
3. Go to the ‘Transmission’ section.
4. Select ‘Basic Setup’.
5. Enter the access code ’09’ in the ‘Group’ field.
6. Click the ‘Count’ button.
7. Select channel ‘000’.
8. Click the ‘Activation’ button.
9. Start the engine and hold down the brake pedal.
10. Switch the automatic transmission selector through all positions: P, R, N, D, S and back.
11. Hold each gear for a few seconds.
12. Turn off the ignition.
13. Start the engine and again shift the automatic transmission selector through all positions.
14. After completing the procedure, click the ‘Finish’ button.
15. Disconnect the diagnostic scanner from the vehicle.
Notes:
* Automatic transmission adaptation should only be performed by a qualified specialist who has experience working with VAG-COM/VCDS diagnostic equipment.
* If the adaptation procedure is incorrect, damage to the automatic transmission may occur.
* After adapting the automatic transmission, it may require some time for ‘training’ in order to fully adapt to operating conditions.
