Required tools and materials:

* Multimeter
* Screwdrivers (flat, Phillips)
* Keys (open-end, socket, socket)
* Pliers
* Electrical tape
* Corrugated tubes
* Terminals
* Heat shrink
* Keys for removing terminals from the battery

Diagnostics:

1. Check the condition of the battery.
2. Check the voltage at the battery terminals (with the engine on and off).
3. Check the condition of the battery, generator and starter terminals.
4. Check the wires for damage or loose connections.
5. Check the operation of headlights, turn signals, brake lights and other electrical devices.

Repair:

1. Battery replacement:
– Remove the terminals from the battery.
– Unscrew the battery fastener and remove it.
– Install the new battery and secure it.
– Connect the terminals to the battery.

2. Cleaning the terminals:
– Remove the terminals.
– Clean the terminals and their contacts with a brush or sandpaper.
– Treat the contacts with anti-corrosion lubricant.
– Reinstall the terminals.

3. Wiring repair:
– Find the damaged section of the wire.
– Cut off the damaged part of the wire.
– Connect the wires using terminals or heat shrink.
– Insulate the connection with electrical tape or corrugated tubing.

4. Replacing the generator or starter:
– Disconnect the “-” terminal from the battery.
– Remove the drive belts and unscrew the generator or starter mounts.
– Remove the old generator or starter.
– Install the new generator or starter and secure it.
– Connect the drive belts and the “-” terminal to the battery.

5. Replacing fuses:
– Identify a blown fuse by its lettering or color.
– Remove the blown fuse and replace it with a new one of the same rating.

Safety recommendations:

* Before starting work, disconnect the “-” terminal of the battery.
*Use insulated tools.
* Do not touch exposed live wires.
* Do not carry out repairs in wet or rainy weather.
