Using a Toyota automatic transmission

1. Shift lever control:

*P (Parking): Used to prevent the vehicle from moving when it is parked.
* R (Reverse): Used to move the vehicle backwards.
* N (Neutral): The engine does not transmit torque to the wheels. Used when towing or to start the engine.
* D (Drive): Primary driving mode for use in most road conditions.
*S (Sport): Increases throttle response and alters shift points for more dynamic driving.
* L (Low): Used for low speed driving, such as when climbing a hill or towing.
* B (Engine Braking): Increases engine braking force when driving downhill or when slowing down is needed.

2. Gear shift:

*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear shift lever to the desired position.
* Release the brake pedal and start driving.

3. Starting the engine:

*Press the brake pedal.
* Shift the gear lever to P or N position.
* Start the engine.

4.Features:

* Neutral start lock: The engine will not start if the gear shift lever is not in the P or N position.
* Parking Mode Switch Lock: You will not be able to switch to Parking Mode P while driving.
* Hill Start Assist Mode: Helps prevent the vehicle from rolling away when starting on an incline.
* Sequential Shift System: Select Toyota models are equipped with a sequential shift system that allows you to manually change gears using the steering wheel paddle shifters.

Note:

* Always stop the vehicle completely before shifting the gearbox.
* When towing, follow the instructions in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
*Service your automatic transmission regularly according to the recommended maintenance schedule.
