Required tools and materials:

* Ratchet wrench
* Heads for 10, 12 and 17 mm
* Wrench extension
* Clean rag
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
* Container for draining liquid

Instructions:

1. Preparing the car:

* Park the car on a level surface.
* Set the parking brake.
* Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Draining transmission fluid:

* Locate the ATF drain plug on the transmission oil pan.
* Place a container under the stopper.
* Unscrew the plug and drain the liquid. Wait until it stops leaking.

3. Removing the oil pan cover:

* Remove the bolts holding the oil pan cover to the transmission using a ratchet wrench and a 10mm socket.
* Carefully separate the cover from the gearbox and remove it.
* Clean the surface of the cover from any remaining sealant.

4. Disconnecting the torque converter from the flywheel:

* Locate the bolts connecting the torque converter to the engine flywheel.
*Use an extension and a 12mm socket to loosen the bolts.
* Do not unscrew the bolts completely.

5. Unscrewing the torque converter bolts:

*Locate the 4 bolts holding the torque converter to the transmission.
*Use a ratchet wrench and a 17mm socket to remove the bolts.

6. Removing the torque converter:

* Carefully pull the torque converter out of the transmission while applying force to the oil pump hub.
* Make sure the torque converter comes out completely and is not stuck.

7. Cleaning and inspection of the torque converter:

* Clean the torque converter with a clean cloth.
* Inspect it for damage, cracks or wear. If any problems are found, the torque converter will need to be repaired or replaced.

8. Filling the torque converter with transmission fluid:

* Fill the torque converter with transmission fluid.
* Make sure the fluid level is at the “full” mark on the torque converter dipstick.

9. Installation of torque converter:

* Reinstall the torque converter, aligning it with the transmission.
* Gently insert it until it contacts the flywheel.

10. Tightening the torque converter bolts:

* Tighten the torque converter bolts to the torque specified in your vehicle’s service manual.

11. Connecting the torque converter to the flywheel:

* Connect the torque converter to the flywheel by tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

12. Installing the oil pan cover:

* Apply sealant to the surface of the oil pan cover.
* Reinstall the cover and tighten the bolts to the recommended torque.

13. Filling the gearbox with transmission fluid:

* Pour transmission fluid into the gearbox through the dipstick tube.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.

14. Battery terminal connection:

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

15. Starting the engine:

* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Shift gears to circulate transmission fluid.

16. Checking the fluid level:

* Check the transmission fluid level on the dipstick when the engine has warmed up to operating temperature.
*Add fluid if necessary.
