Tools and materials:
* Key for automatic transmission drain plug
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
*Torque key
* Funnel
*Measuring cup
* Transmission oil for Hyundai automatic transmission (Hyundai ATF SP-III)
Steps:
1. Stop the engine and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Raise the car on a jack or lift. If necessary, remove the engine crankcase protection.
3. Find the automatic transmission drain plug. It is usually located at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan.
4. Place a drain pan under the drain plug and unscrew the plug. Let the oil drain into the pan.
5. While the oil is draining, replace the automatic transmission oil filter. It is usually located in the automatic transmission pan.
6. Clean the drain plug and install a new gasket.
7. Screw the drain plug back. Tighten it to 33 Nm.
8. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan and tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.
9. Find the automatic transmission filler hole. It is usually located on top or on the side of the automatic transmission.
10. Insert a funnel into the filler hole and fill in new transmission oil.
11. Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick. The oil level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks on the dipstick.
12. Clean the dipstick and insert it back into the filler hole.
13. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
14. Start the engine and let it idle.
15. Shift the gear selector from the “P” position to all other positions and then return it to the “P” position.
16. Check the automatic transmission oil level again and add if necessary.
17. Lower the vehicle and check for possible leaks.

* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000-90,000 km.
* Use only transmission oil recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* When changing automatic transmission oil, you may need to reset the oil change time counter. Consult the owner’s manual or contact your Hyundai dealer for instructions.
