Required materials:
* Toyota Type WS transmission fluid or equivalent (about 3 liters)
* New oil pan gasket
* Transmission oil filter
* Oil pan plug
* Sealant (optional)
* Rags
Tools:
* 19mm wrench
* Socket wrench E12
*Long Nose Pliers
* Funnel
* Container for draining old oil
* Torque wrench
Replacement procedure:
1. Prepare the vehicle: Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Wait until the transmission cools down.
2. Drain the old oil: Place a drain container under the transmission. Unscrew the oil pan plug with a 19 mm wrench and drain the old oil.
3. Remove the oil pan: Using an E12 socket wrench, remove the bolts holding the oil pan in place. Carefully remove the pan and drain the remaining oil.
4. Replace the oil filter: Remove the old oil filter with long nose pliers. Place the new oil filter in place and tighten it by hand.
5. Clean the pan and gasket: Thoroughly clean the pan and gasket of old oil and debris. If necessary, apply a thin layer of sealant to the edges of the gasket.
6. Install the oil pan: Install the oil pan gasket and attach it to the transmission. Tighten the bolts with a torque wrench to torque specification (typically 10-12 Nm).
7. Fill with new oil: Insert a funnel into the transmission filler hole and add approximately 2.5 liters of new oil.
8. Start the engine and check the oil level: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then turn off the engine and check the oil level on the dipstick. Add more oil if necessary. Bring the oil level to the “cold” mark.
9. Check for leaks: Put the transmission in different modes and check for leaks.
Adviсe:
* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000 km or every two years, whichever comes first.
*Use only manufacturer recommended transmission fluid.
*Tighten bolts to the correct torque specification to prevent leaks.
*If in doubt, seek help from a professional mechanic.
