Peculiarities:

* All automatic transmissions in Toyota Prado are planetary type.
* Gear changes are accomplished by changing the pressure of the transmission fluid sent to the various planetary gears.
* Gearboxes are equipped with a torque converter, which ensures smooth starting and gear shifting.
* Mode “L” (low) is designed to improve traction characteristics off-road.
*Some Prado models also feature a ‘Sport’ mode which changes the gearbox calibrations for more aggressive and responsive shifting.
