Self-diagnosis of automatic transmission Toyota Corona ST190

1. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.

2. Locate the diagnostic connector under the hood. It is usually located near the battery or fuse box.

3. Close contacts Tc and E1 on the diagnostic connector. You can use a paperclip or a small piece of wire.

4. Start the engine.

5. Trouble codes will be displayed on the tachometer as the Check Engine light flashes.

6. Count the number of flashes. The first two series of flashes indicate a fault code. For example, if the Check Engine light flashes twice, then pauses and then flashes once, the trouble code is 21.

Automatic transmission fault codes:

| 15 | Electronic control unit for automatic transmission |
| 16 | Gear selector position sensor |
| 17 | Engine speed does not correspond to the specified |
| 18 | Transmission fluid is overheated |

7. Reset fault codes. To do this, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.
