How to turn on the automatic transmission on a Toyota Corolla:
1. Make sure the vehicle is in Park (P) condition.
2. Press the brake pedal.
3. Move the gear shift lever to the desired position:
— D (Drive): For normal forward driving.
— R (Reverse): For reversing.
— N (Neutral): For cases when the car is not moving (for example, at a traffic light).
— P (Parking): To lock the wheels when you are not driving the vehicle.
4. Release the brake pedal.
