The procedure for changing the oil in an automatic transmission Toyota Corolla 120:
1. Prepare the vehicle: Place the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake and allow the engine to cool.
2. Remove the underbody protection: Unscrew the bolts holding the underbody protection in place and remove it.
3. Locate the transmission drain plug: Under the vehicle, locate the transmission pan drain plug. It is usually located at the bottom of the tray.
4. Place a container to drain the oil: Place a large bowl or container under the drain plug.
5. Drain the automatic transmission oil: Using a 14 mm wrench, loosen the drain plug and drain the oil into a prepared container. Be careful as the oil may be hot.
6. Remove the transmission pan: After draining the oil, remove the bolts holding the transmission pan in place. Lower the pan slowly as there may be some oil left in it.
7. Replace the pan gasket: Remove the old pan gasket and install a new one.
8. Clean the transmission pan and magnets: Clean the transmission pan and magnets of metal shavings and other contaminants.
9. If necessary, replace the automatic transmission filter: If the automatic transmission filter is dirty, replace it with a new one. Remove the old filter and install the new one.
10. Reassemble the automatic transmission: Reinstall the transmission pan with a new gasket. Tighten the pan bolts.
11. Install the drain plug: Screw the drain plug into place with a new O-ring (if necessary). Tighten the drain plug with a 14mm wrench.
12. Fill in new ATF WS oil: Using a funnel, pour approximately 3 liters of new ATF WS into the automatic transmission.
13. Check the oil level: Start the engine and let it idle. Using the dipstick to check the fluid level in the automatic transmission, check the oil level. It should be between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks on the dipstick.
14. Add oil if necessary: If the oil level is below the “HOT” mark, add a little more ATF WS and check the level again. Continue until the level reaches the desired value.
15. Install the skid plate: Reinstall the skid plate and tighten the bolts.
