Checking the oil level in an automatic transmission (automatic transmission) Toyota Camry
Tools:
* Dipstick for measuring automatic transmission oil level
*Clean rag or paper towel
Procedure:
1. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes drive.
2. Place the gear shift lever in the Park position.
3. Turn off the engine.
4. Open the hood and find the dipstick for measuring the automatic transmission oil level. It is usually located in the rear of the engine compartment, next to the automatic transmission.
5. Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
6. Insert the dipstick back into the tube until it stops.
7. Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level.
Interpretation of results:
* Normal oil level: The oil level should be between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks on the dipstick.
*Low oil level: If the oil level is below the “COLD” mark, you need to add oil.
*High oil level: If the oil level is above the “HOT” mark, it needs to be drained to normal level.
Recommended oil for automatic transmission Toyota Camry:
* Toyota ATF Type T-IV or
* An analogue corresponding to its specifications
Note: The automatic transmission oil level should be checked regularly, approximately every 2 months or 5,000 kilometers. While driving, especially in hot weather or when towing heavy loads, the oil level may fluctuate, so it should be checked more often.
