Automatic Transmission Controls

* Gear shift lever: Located on the center console.
* Gear Position Indicator: Located on the instrument panel or near the gear shift lever.
* Mode Button: Usually located next to the gear shift lever.

Operating modes

* P (Park): Parking – used for long-term parking of a vehicle with the parking brake applied.
* R (Reverse): Reverse – used to move the vehicle backwards.
* N (Neutral): Neutral – used when stopping the vehicle with the parking brake not applied or when towing.
* D (Drive): Forward driving is the main mode for everyday driving.
* S (Sport): Sport mode – changes gear shift characteristics for a more dynamic ride.
* L (Low): Low gear – used to increase torque when climbing hills or driving off-road.

Using an automatic transmission

1. Start the engine: Press the brake pedal and turn the ignition key.
2. Select mode: Move the gear lever to the desired mode (eg D for forward).
3. Release the brake pedal: The vehicle will begin to move in the selected mode.
4. Press the gas pedal: Accelerate the car by pressing the gas pedal.
5. Brake: To slow down or stop the vehicle, press the brake pedal.
6. Switch to Parking Mode: With the vehicle at a complete stop, move the gear lever to P and apply the parking brake.

Adviсe

* Do not switch to Park (P) mode while the vehicle is moving.
* Use L mode only when necessary, because… it can lead to increased fuel consumption and gearbox wear.
* If the car is stuck, you can switch between D and R modes to rock the car.
* Regularly service the transmission and change the transmission fluid according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
