Instructions for replacing the transmission light bulb:
1. Disconnect the battery. Apply the parking brake and move the gear lever to the Park position (P). Open the hood and disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Locate the transmission control panel. It is usually located on the center console of the car.
3. Remove the transmission control panel. Depending on the vehicle model, the control panel may be screwed on or held in place by latches. Locate the screws or latches and carefully remove the control panel.
4. Disconnect the transmission light connector. Position the connector at the top of the light bulb and press the latch to release it.
5. Remove the old light bulb and replace it with a new one. Turn the bulb slightly counterclockwise to remove it. Insert the new bulb and turn it clockwise to secure it into place.
6. Connect the transmission light connector. Align the connector with the light bulb and press it until it clicks.
7. Reinstall the transmission control panel. Align the control panel and secure it in place with screws or latches.
8. Connect the battery. Connect the negative cable to the battery and tighten it.
Note:
*Make sure the new bulb meets the specifications above.
* Be careful not to touch the glass part of a new light bulb with your bare hands, as this may cause it to fail prematurely.
