Toyota Allion transmission filter replacement time:

* Under normal operating conditions: every 40,000 – 60,000 km or 2 – 3 years
* Under severe operating conditions (frequent driving in traffic jams, towing a trailer, etc.): every 20,000 – 30,000 km or 1 – 2 years

Required tools and materials:

* New transmission filter
* Transmission pan gasket
* Oil drain container
* Screwdrivers or socket wrenches
* Funnel
* New gear oil (check owner’s manual for specifications)

Replacement procedure:

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Remove the transmission pan. To do this, unscrew all the bolts holding the pallet.
3. Drain the old transmission oil. Place a container to drain the oil under the pan.
4. Remove the old transmission filter. It is usually located in the tray.
5. Install a new filter. Lubricate the new O-ring with transmission oil and carefully insert the new filter into its housing.
6. Reinstall the transmission pan. Replace the pan gasket and tighten all bolts.
7. Fill the gearbox with new gear oil. Use a funnel to carefully fill the transmission with oil to the level indicated on the dipstick.
8. Check the oil level. Start the engine and shift through all gears. Then check the oil level again and add if necessary.

Notes:

* It is recommended to flush the transmission before replacing the filter to remove dirt and deposits.
* Higher maintenance volumes may require the transmission filter to be replaced on a more frequent basis.
