Materials required for changing the oil in a 2009 Tuareg automatic transmission:
* Automatic transmission oil VW/Audi G 055 162 A2 (about 6 liters)
* New transmission sump with filter (1032 898 901)
* Oil pan gasket (1032 898 905)
* New oil pan plug (1053 898 077)
* Carburetor cleaner
* Socket wrenches 10 mm, 13 mm, 17 mm
* Flat head screwdriver
Instructions for changing the oil in a 2009 Tuareg automatic transmission:
1. Place the car on a lift or jack.
2. Remove the engine crankcase protection.
3. Find the automatic transmission oil pan. It is located at the bottom of the gearbox.
4. Clean the surface around the automatic transmission oil pan from dirt.
5. Place a tray under the automatic transmission to collect oil.
6. Loosen the oil pan bolts by 10 mm. Do not unscrew them all the way.
7. Carefully unscrew the bolts and remove the oil pan. The oil will begin to drain.
8. When the oil stops draining, remove any remaining old oil and dirt from the oil pan and magnets.
9. Install a new oil pan gasket.
10. Install the new filter on the oil pan.
11. Reinstall the oil pan and tighten the bolts to 10 mm.
12. Install a new oil pan plug and tighten it to 17 mm.
13. Fill the automatic transmission with new oil. Use a funnel to pour in the oil.
14. Tighten the drain plug and start the engine.
15. Switch the automatic transmission selector to all positions and back.
16. Check the oil level in the automatic transmission on a hot engine. The level should be between the “min” and “max” marks on the dipstick.
17. If necessary, add oil.
18. Install the engine crankcase protection.
