Required tools:

* Transmission oil dipstick
* Funnel
* Gear oil for automatic transmissions (Nissan Matic S or equivalent)

Steps:

1. Warm up the engine and transmission:

* Start the engine and allow it to warm up to operating temperature.
* Shift the gear selector through all positions (P, R, N, D) and return it to the park position (P).

2. Check the oil level:

* Remove the transmission oil dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
* Reinsert the dipstick into the tube and pull it out.
* The oil level should be between the “Min” and “Max” marks on the dipstick.

3. Add oil if necessary:

* If the oil level is below the “Min” mark, insert a funnel into the dipstick tube.
*Add oil little by little until the level reaches the “Max” mark on the dipstick.
*Use approximately 0.5-1 liter of oil at a time.

4. Check the oil level again:

* Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
* Reinsert the dipstick into the tube and pull it out.
* Make sure the oil level is between the “Min” and “Max” marks.

5. Reset the oil aging counter:

* Turn off the engine and turn on the ignition.
*Press the odometer reset button, usually located on the instrument panel.
*Keep the button pressed until the “Service Engine Soon” indicator flashes.
*Release the reset button.

Notes:

*Always use high quality gear oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Do not overfill the transmission with oil as this may cause damage.
* Check the transmission oil level regularly, especially before long trips.
*If you are unsure of the procedure, consult a qualified mechanic.
