Possible reasons for the automatic transmission kicking when starting off:

Transmission problems:

* Worn clutches or steel discs
* Faulty torque converter (donut)
* Incorrect transmission fluid pressure
* Clogged oil filter
* Faulty transmission control valve

Engine problems:

* Unstable idle
*Low fuel pressure
* Worn ignition system
* Faulty sensors (crankshaft position sensor, camshaft sensor)

Electronics problems:

*Faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM)
* Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
* Faulty wiring

Other reasons:

* Too viscous or insufficient transmission fluid
* Wear of rubber engine or gearbox mounts
* Worn driveshafts or CV joints

Solution:

* Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid.
* Scan the electronic control unit for fault codes.
* Diagnose the transmission and engine for mechanical problems.
* Replace faulty components if necessary.
* Reprogram TCM or ECM if required.
* Check and repair wiring and electrical connections.
