Tools and materials:

* Set of keys or Torx sockets
* Hex key set
* Oil filter removal wrench
* New set of Teflon rings for automatic transmission AL4
* Automatic transmission oil (if necessary)
* Parts cleaner

Instructions for replacing Teflon rings in an AL4 automatic transmission:

1. Preparing the car:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake and allow the engine to cool.
* Open the hood and disconnect the battery.

2. Draining transmission oil:

* Locate the automatic transmission pan under the car.
* Place a drain container under the tray.
* Loosen the drain plug and drain the oil.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:

*Using a Torx or hex wrench, remove the pan mounting bolts.
* Carefully separate the pan from the automatic transmission housing.
* Inspect the pan gasket and replace it if necessary.

4. Replacing Teflon rings:

* Locate the Teflon rings (usually they are located in the valve body).
* Using a set of hex keys, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the valve body.
*Remove the old Teflon rings and thoroughly clean their locations with parts cleaner.
* Install new Teflon rings in place.

5. Installation of the hydraulic unit:

* Carefully install the valve body into the automatic transmission housing.
* Tighten the mounting bolts.

6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:

* Clean the joint surface of the pallet.
* Apply sealant to the new pan gasket or reattach the old gasket.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the mounting bolts.

7. Filling with transmission oil:

* Check the oil level in the automatic transmission using the dipstick.
*Add oil if necessary.

8. Resetting the oil aging counter:

*Connect the OBD2 scanner to the car.
* Find the function “Reset automatic transmission oil aging counter” and perform it.

9. Completion:

* Connect the battery.
* Start the engine and let it warm up.
* Shift gears and check for leaks or strange noises.
* Clean up spilled oil and tools.
