1. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Find the automatic transmission pan.
3. The temperature sensor is usually located on the side of the automatic transmission pan.
4. The sensor can be identified by its wires that go to the automatic transmission ECU.

Replacing the automatic transmission temperature sensor

1. Remove the electrical connector from the sensor.
2. Unscrew the sensor using a wrench or socket.
3. Apply sealant to the new sensor.
4. Screw the new sensor into place.
5. Connect the electrical connector.
6. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

Resetting fault codes

After replacing the automatic transmission temperature sensor, you need to reset the fault codes:

1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “On” position (do not start the engine).
2. Press the accelerator pedal five times within 10 seconds.
3. Release the accelerator pedal.
4. Turn the ignition key to the “Off” position.
5. Wait 10 seconds.
6. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
