Materials:
* New automatic transmission shank oil seal
* New gear oil (2 liters)
* Transmission sealant
* Clean rags atau kain
Tools:
* Set of socket wrenches
* Slotted screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Circlip pliers
* Oil drain container
* Funnel
* Gloves
* Safety glasses
Steps:
1. Preparation:
* Wear safety glasses and gloves.
* Place the vehicle on a lift or raise the front end using a jack and supports.
* Loosen the propeller shaft mounting bolts.
2. Draining transmission oil:
* Locate the transmission drain plug.
* Place a container to drain the oil under the drain plug.
* Carefully unscrew the drain plug so that the oil begins to drain.
* Drain the oil until it stops leaking.
3. Removing the driveshaft:
* Remove the propeller shaft mounting bolts.
* Pull the driveshaft out of the automatic transmission shank.
4. Removing the automatic transmission shank:
* Remove the automatic transmission shank mounting bolts.
* Gently pull the transmission shank to remove it from the transmission.
5. Replacing the automatic transmission shank oil seal:
* Remove the old automatic transmission shank oil seal using a screwdriver.
* Clean the surface of the automatic transmission shank and the oil seal from old sealant.
* Apply a thin layer of new sealant to the new automatic transmission tail gasket.
* Insert the new automatic transmission shank oil seal into place.
6. Installing the automatic transmission shank:
* Reinstall the automatic transmission shank.
* Tighten the automatic transmission shank mounting bolts.
7. Installing the cardan shaft:
* Insert the driveshaft into the automatic transmission shank.
* Install and tighten the propeller shaft mounting bolts.
8. Refilling with gear oil:
* Using a funnel, pour new gear oil into the gearbox.
* Fill in the amount of oil specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
9. Installing the drain plug:
* Screw the drain plug into place and tighten it.
10. Cleaning:
* Clean up any spilled oil from the transmission and floor.
11. Check:
* Start the engine and let it idle.
*Check under the car for leaks.
