Required tools:
* Phillips screwdriver
* Flat head screwdriver
* New automatic transmission light bulb (usually type T5 or T10)
Steps:
1. Make sure that the automatic transmission lever is in the park position (P).
2. Find the automatic transmission control panel. It is usually located on the center console under the instrument panel.
3. Pry up the bottom of the control panel with a flathead screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the panel.
4. Remove the panel and place it aside.
5. Find the automatic transmission light bulb socket. It is usually attached to the bottom of the panel and has a small connector.
6. Press the tab and remove the cartridge.
7. Pull the old light bulb out of the socket.
8. Insert the new light bulb into the socket.
9. Install the cartridge into place in the panel.
10. Reinstall the control panel.
11. Start the engine and check whether the automatic transmission illumination works correctly.
Adviсe:
*Make sure the new bulb is the correct size and type.
* Use a clean cloth or gloves when replacing the light bulb to avoid leaving fingerprints on the glass of the lamp.
*If you have difficulty removing the light bulb socket, try turning it over at the other end and lifting it from the bottom.
*If the automatic transmission light still does not work after replacing the bulb, there may be other electrical or automatic transmission switch problems. Contact a mechanic for further diagnosis.
