Location and replacement of the transmission filter in SsangYong Actyon with automatic transmission

Materials:

* New transmission filter
* Transmission pan gasket
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
* Set of keys and screwdrivers
* Liquid collection container

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool, then disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Draining transmission fluid:

*Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the transmission pan.
* Place a container under the plug and unscrew it using a 17 mm wrench.
* Drain the liquid into a container.

3. Removing the transmission pan:

* Remove the transmission pan bolts using a 10mm wrench.
* Carefully pry up the tray with a screwdriver and remove it.
* Remove the old filter from the pan.

4. Installing a new filter:

* Install the new filter into the pan and secure it.

5. Pallet installation:

* Clean the contact surface between the pan and the transmission housing.
* Apply a new gasket to the gasket.
* Reinstall the tray and secure it with bolts.

6. Filling transmission fluid:

* Pour new transmission fluid into the transmission through the dipstick hole.
*Use a funnel to avoid spilling liquid.

7. Checking the fluid level:

* Check the fluid level using the dipstick. The level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks.
*If the level is low, add fluid.

8. Battery connection:

* Connect the negative battery cable.

9. Resetting the fluid aging counter:

* If you have changed the fluid, you need to reset the fluid aging counter in the transmission control unit. This can be done using an OBD-II scanner.

10. Completion:

* Make sure all bolts and plugs are tight.
* Start the engine and change gears several times to check the operation of the transmission.
* Check the fluid level again. Add fluid if necessary.
