The speed sensor on the Toyota Corolla 120 with automatic transmission is located on the gearbox housing, on the side of the right front wheel.

The speed sensor is a small plastic cylinder with two connectors.

Signs of a malfunctioning speed sensor

* Incorrect speedometer readings
* Engine goes into emergency mode
* Increased fuel consumption

How to replace the speed sensor

To replace the speed sensor you will need the following tools:

* Set of keys
* Flat head screwdriver

Replacement procedure:

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
2. Raise the car on a jack.
3. Disconnect the minus terminal from the battery.
4. Locate the speed sensor on the transmission housing.
5. Disconnect the connectors from the speed sensor.
6. Unscrew the two sensor mounting bolts.
7. Remove the sensor from its seat.
8. Install the new sensor in reverse order.
9. Connect the connectors to the speed sensor.
10. Connect the minus terminal to the battery.
11. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
