Location of speed sensor Nissan Maxima A32 automatic transmission
The speed sensor on the Nissan Maxima A32 with automatic transmission is located on the left transmission output shaft, next to the front subframe.
Speed Sensor Replacement Procedure
1. Place the car on a lift or jack it up.
2. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
3. Locate the speed sensor on the transmission.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
5. Using a wrench or socket, remove the speed sensor mounting bolt.
6. Remove the old speed sensor from the transmission.
7. Install the new speed sensor and tighten its mounting bolt.
8. Connect the electrical connector to the new speed sensor.
9. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.

* Incorrect speedometer or tachometer readings
* Jerking or slipping of the transmission
