Location of automatic transmission speed sensor in Grand Starex
The automatic transmission speed sensor in Grand Starex is located on the automatic transmission housing, to the right of the engine.
Access to the automatic transmission speed sensor
To access the automatic transmission speed sensor you must:
1. Place the car in parking.
2. Raise the hood.
3. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
4. Determine the location of the automatic transmission speed sensor (see above).
Replacing the automatic transmission speed sensor
To replace the automatic transmission speed sensor, follow these steps:
1. Unscrew the bolt securing the sensor to the automatic transmission housing.
2. Pull the sensor slightly to remove it from the automatic transmission housing.
3. Clean the surface of the automatic transmission housing where the sensor was installed.
4. Apply a small amount of sealant to the O-ring of the new sensor.
5. Insert the new sensor into the automatic transmission housing and tighten the fastening bolt.
6. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Symptoms of a faulty automatic transmission speed sensor
A faulty automatic transmission speed sensor may exhibit the following symptoms:
* Incorrect gear shifting
* The appearance of fault codes associated with the automatic transmission speed sensor
* Problems with the speedometer
* Inability to switch the automatic transmission lever to the “Parking” position
