Speed ​​sensor location:

* The speed sensor is located on the driver’s side of the transmission.
* It is attached to the transmission housing with two bolts.

Replacement procedure:

Tools and materials:

* Set of keys or socket heads
* New speed sensor
* Copper grease
* Rags or paper towels

Procedure:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Raise the car on a lift or place it on stands.
3. Locate the speed sensor.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
5. Remove the two bolts securing the speed sensor to the transmission housing.
6. Gently pull the sensor to remove it from the transmission.
7. Apply a small amount of copper grease to the threads of the new speed sensor.
8. Screw the new speed sensor into the transmission housing.
9. Tighten the sensor mounting bolts.
10. Connect the electrical connector to the speed sensor.
11. Lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel bolts.
12. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

Notes:

* Make sure the engine is cool before starting work.
*Using copper grease on the sensor threads will help prevent the bolt from seizing.
*If you are experiencing problems with the accuracy of your speedometer or odometer, you may need to replace the speed sensor.
