Required materials:

* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission oil (type specified in the operating manual)
* Sealant
* Cleaning solvent
* Rags

Tools:

* Set of keys
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Torque wrench
* Lift or jack

Procedure:

1. Preparation

* Place the car on a lift or jack it up.
* Ensure safety. Put the car on the handbrake and place chocks under the wheels.
* Allow the engine to cool, then stop it.
* Clean the area under the transmission pan with cleaning solvent.

2. Draining the automatic transmission oil

* Unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission pan with a wrench or a screwdriver.
* Drain the oil into a container.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan

* Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan to the gearbox housing.
* Carefully remove the pan from the body, being careful not to damage the gasket.

4. Cleaning the tray and body

* Clean the pan and transmission housing of old gasket and sealant.
* If necessary, replace the automatic transmission oil filter (usually located in the pan).

5. Installing the automatic transmission pan gasket

* Apply sealant to the surface of the automatic transmission pan.
* Install a new gasket on the pan.

6. Installing the automatic transmission pan

* Install the pan onto the transmission housing.
* Tighten the pan mounting bolts with a torque wrench according to the torque specified in the owner’s manual.

7. Filling automatic transmission oil

* Fill the automatic transmission with the required amount of oil.
* The oil level is checked with the engine idling and the gear selector in the park position.
*Add oil until the correct level is reached.

8. Completion

* Check the automatic transmission oil level after a short trip and add it if necessary.
* Lower the vehicle from a lift or jack.

Note:

* When replacing the automatic transmission pan gasket, it is recommended to also replace the automatic transmission oil.
* The replacement procedure may vary slightly depending on the specific model and year of manufacture of the Skoda Rapid.
*Always follow the repair manual for exact instructions.
