Materials:
* Dipstick for measuring automatic transmission oil level
* Funnel
* Transmission fluid recommended for your Hyundai Solaris (usually ATF SP-III)
Procedure:
1. Warm up the engine: Start the engine and run it for a few minutes to warm up the automatic transmission oil.
2. Park the vehicle on a level surface: Park on a level surface to ensure accurate oil level readings.
3. Idle the engine: Do not turn off the engine.
4. Shift through all gears: Shift through all gears (P, R, N, D, 4, 3, 2, 1), holding each gear for a few seconds.
5. Press the brake pedal: Press and hold the brake pedal.
6. Remove and wipe the dipstick: Pull out the automatic transmission oil level dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
7. Check the oil level: Insert the dipstick back into the tube and pull it out again. The oil level should be between the “LOW” and “FULL” marks on the dipstick.
8. Add oil as needed: If the oil level is below the “LOW” mark, use a funnel to add a small amount of transmission fluid.
9. Check the oil level again: After adding oil, run the engine for a few more minutes and check the oil level again. Repeat steps 6-9 until the oil level is within the specified range.
10. Lower the dipstick: After checking the oil level correctly, lower the dipstick back into the tube.
Notes:
* Do not overfill transmission fluid. This can lead to problems with gear shifting.
* Check the automatic transmission oil level regularly, especially before long trips or towing heavy loads.
* If you notice a significant decrease in the automatic transmission oil level or a change in oil color, contact a mechanic to have it checked.
