Location:
The automatic transmission selector position sensor (APSS) on the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is located on the gearbox housing on the passenger compartment side.
Removal procedure:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Shift the gear selector lever to the Park position.
3. Unscrew the two bolts securing the gear selector housing at the bottom of the center console.
4. Remove the gear selector housing.
5. Locate the DPSS on the side of the automatic transmission housing.

5. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
6. Verify that the sensor is operating correctly by shifting the gear selector to all positions.
