Self-diagnosis of automatic transmission Nissan X-Trail T30

Prerequisites:

* The automatic transmission is in park mode (P).
* The gear selector lever is in the extreme right position.
* The engine is idling.

Procedure:

1. Insert the key into the ignition.
2. Quickly press the brake pedal five times in a row within 5 seconds.
3. Press and hold the brake pedal down.
4. Move the gear selector lever from position P to N and back to P.
5. Release the brake pedal.
6. Press and hold the gas pedal down.
7. Move the gear selector lever to position N and back to P.
8. Release the gas pedal.

Reading fault codes:

*After completing the above steps, the “CHECK A/T” indicator on the instrument panel will flash.
* The number of flashes corresponds to the first digit of the fault code.
* After a pause, the indicator will start flashing again, this time the number of flashes will correspond to the second digit of the code.
* The fault code consists of two digits. For example, if the indicator flashes three times and then twice, the fault code is 32.

| 25 | Electrical wiring fault |
| 26 | Hydraulic system malfunction |
| 27 | Insufficient transmission fluid pressure |

Notes:

* If a fault code is not displayed, then the automatic transmission is in good condition.
* Self-diagnosis is not exhaustive and may not identify all automatic transmission faults.
*If a DTC is detected, you must contact a qualified mechanic to correct the problem.
