Self-diagnosis of automatic transmission Nissan Terrano 21
Required equipment:
* OBD-II scanner
Self-diagnosis procedure:
1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. On the scanner, select the make and model of your vehicle.
4. Go to the transmission diagnostics section.
5. Select the “Automatic transmission self-diagnosis” function.
6. Run the self-test process.
During the self-test, the scanner will perform the following actions:
* Reads fault codes stored in the automatic transmission control unit.
* Displays information about errors and possible causes of their occurrence.
* Displays data on automatic transmission operating parameters, such as:
*Hydraulic system pressure
* Rotation speed of input and output shafts
*Transmission fluid temperature
Deciphering fault codes:
Fault codes will be displayed on the scanner screen as alphanumeric codes. You can decrypt them using repair instructions or specialized programs for OBD-II scanners.
Possible causes of automatic transmission malfunctions:
* Problems with the hydraulic system (leaks, fluid contamination)
* Malfunctions in the electronic control unit
* Wear of mechanical components (clutches, planetary gears)
Note:
* For correct automatic transmission self-diagnosis, the transmission fluid temperature must be within the operating temperature.
* If fault codes are detected during self-diagnosis, it is recommended to contact a service station for professional diagnosis and repair.
