Self-diagnosis of automatic transmission Nissan Cefiro A33

Diagnostic procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Place the car on a level surface.
* Apply the parking brake.
* Turn off the engine.

2. Connecting the diagnostic tool:

*Connect the scan tool to the vehicle’s OBD-II connector.

3. Enabling self-diagnosis mode:

* Insert the ignition key into the lock and turn it to the “ON” position (do not start the engine).
* Wait until all warning lights on the instrument panel go out.
* Quickly press and release the accelerator pedal three times within 5 seconds.
* The CHECK ENGINE indicator light will flash several times, indicating the start of the self-test mode.

4. Reading fault codes:

* Once the CHECK ENGINE indicator light flashes, the scan tool will begin reading trouble codes.
* Trouble codes will appear as two-digit numbers on the scan tool screen.

5. Deciphering fault codes:

* Refer to the Nissan Cefiro A33 repair manual to decipher the read fault codes.
* Trouble codes may indicate problems with the mechanical, hydraulic or electrical system of the automatic transmission.

6. Troubleshooting:

* After identifying faults, carry out the necessary work to repair or replace faulty automatic transmission components.

7. Resetting fault codes:

* After troubleshooting, clear automatic transmission fault codes using a scan tool.

Resetting automatic transmission fault codes:

*Connect the scan tool to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
* Select the “Reset Trouble Codes” option from the scan tool menu.
* Confirm resetting codes and wait for it to complete.

After completing the above steps, the self-diagnosis mode of the Nissan Cefiro A33 automatic transmission will be completed.
