Limit switch of the automatic transmission selector for Skoda Rapid cars
The automatic transmission selector limit switch is responsible for sending a signal to the control unit about the current position of the gear selector lever. The following limit switches are installed on Skoda Rapid vehicles with automatic transmission:

Symptoms of a malfunction of the automatic transmission selector limit switches:
* It is impossible to move the selector lever from the “P” position
* It is impossible to start the car engine with the selector switch on

Diagnostics and replacement of automatic transmission selector limit switches:
To diagnose limit switches, you will need a voltmeter or a diagnostic scanner. It may also be necessary to remove the automatic transmission selector housing to access the switches.
To replace limit switches you must:
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the automatic transmission selector housing.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the limit switches.
4. Remove the limit switches from the selector housing.
5. Install new limit switches.
6. Connect electrical connectors.
7. Reinstall the automatic transmission selector housing.
8. Connect the battery.
After replacing the limit switches, it is necessary to diagnose the system using a diagnostic scanner to ensure that they are operating correctly.
