Function:

* The function of the automatic transmission selector sensor is to determine the position of the selector lever and transmit this information to the automatic transmission control unit (TCU).

Types of automatic transmission selector sensors on Toyota Corona:

* Mechanical sensors: Used in early Corona models. They operate through a direct mechanical connection to the selector lever.
* Electronic sensors: Used in newer Corona models. They operate via electronic impulses and do not have a direct mechanical connection to the selector lever.
