Location of the automatic transmission selector sensor in the Nissan X-Trail T31:
1. Look under the hood and find the automatic transmission unit, which is usually located on the driver’s side.
2. On the automatic transmission unit you will see a gear selector sensor, which looks like a small box with an electrical connector.
3. The sensor is usually attached to the automatic transmission unit using two bolts.
Removing and installing the automatic transmission selector sensor:
Required tools:
* Wrench set
* Flat blade screwdriver
Removal:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Loosen the two bolts securing the sensor to the automatic transmission unit.
3. Carefully disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
4. Remove the sensor from the automatic transmission unit.
Installation:
1. Insert the new sensor into the automatic transmission unit.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
3. Tighten the two bolts securing the sensor to the automatic transmission unit.
4. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
