Purpose:

Replacing the selector oil seal of the BMW X5 E53 automatic transmission:
1. Loosen the automatic transmission selector mounting bolts.
2. Remove the automatic transmission selector cover.
3. Clean the automatic transmission selector shaft from dirt and foreign objects.
4. Install a new oil seal on the automatic transmission selector shaft.
5. Reinstall the automatic transmission selector cover.
6. Tighten the automatic transmission selector mounting bolts.
7. Add transmission fluid to the gearbox to the required level.
