Location of the automatic transmission selector position sensor (PRNDL) in a Ford Escape
The selector position sensor (PRNDL) is usually located on the side of the transmission. Here’s how to find it in your Ford Escape:
1. Open the hood.
2. Locate the gearbox, which is usually located on the right side of the engine.
3. Look on the side of the transmission and locate the sensor, which looks like a small black block with a wire connected to it.
4. The sensor may have the letters PRNDL or a marking such as “Automatic Transmission Selector” may be printed on it.
