Automatic transmission selector illumination Subaru Forester
For models 2009-2023.
Materials:
* Phillips screwdriver
*New LED Module with Holder (OEM Part Number: 35037AA110)
Instructions:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will prevent short circuits during operation.
2. Remove the center console. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws under the armrest and near the transmission selector. Carefully lift the console up and remove.
3. Find the backlight assembly block. It is located under the automatic transmission selector, directly behind the front cup holder.
4. Disconnect the connector. Press the connector latch and pull it away from the backlight assembly.
5. Remove the backlight assembly block. Use a screwdriver to remove the screw securing the backlight assembly. There is no need to move the assembly block – just remove it from the screw.
6. Remove the LED module. The backlight assembly consists of a black holder and an LED module. Press the latches on both sides of the holder and remove the LED module.
7. Install the new LED module. Insert the new LED module into the holder, making sure it is properly aligned and snaps into place.
8. Reinstall the backlight assembly. Insert the backlight assembly into the bay and tighten the screw.
9. Connect the connector. Insert the connector into the backlight assembly until you hear a click.
10. Reinstall the center console. Carefully position the console in place and tighten the screws.
Adviсe:
*Use the LED module with the same number of LEDs as the original one.
* Handle the connector carefully to avoid damaging the latches.
* After completing the work, make sure that the automatic transmission selector illumination works correctly.
After installing the new selector illumination, the automatic transmission will be better visible in the dark, which will improve the usability and aesthetics of the car interior.
