Materials:

* LED strip or lamps
* Wires
* Soldering iron
* Heat shrink
* Screwdrivers
* Electrical tape

Instructions:

1. Removing the automatic transmission selector

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Remove the plastic panel around the automatic transmission selector.
* Unscrew the bolts that secure the selector to the console.
* Carefully pull the selector up and disconnect it from the connector.

2. Disassemble the automatic transmission selector

* Disconnect the selector cables.
* Remove the screws that secure the two halves of the selector.
* Divide the selector into two parts.

3. Installation of backlight

* Try on LED strip or lamps in the places where you want to install the backlight.
* Shorten the LED strip or lamp wiring to the required length.
* Solder the wires to the LED strip or lamps.
* Insulate all connections with heat shrink.

4. Connection to electrical wiring

* Find a suitable power source in the vehicle’s electrical wiring. This could be a dashboard light or other power source that turns on when the headlights are turned on or when the key is in the ignition position.
*Connect the positive wire from the backlight to the power supply.
*Connect the negative wire from the backlight to a common ground point in the vehicle.

5. Automatic transmission selector assembly

* Assemble the automatic transmission selector, placing the backlight in its place.
* Secure the two halves of the selector with screws.
* Connect the selector cables.

6. Installation of the automatic transmission selector

* Insert the automatic transmission selector back into the hole on the console.
* Secure the selector with bolts.
* Install the plastic panel around the selector.

7. Backlight check

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Check whether the automatic transmission selector illumination turns on when you turn on the headlights or the key to the ignition position.

Adviсe:

*Use high quality LED strip or lamps to ensure even illumination.
*Hide wires under console trim for a cleaner look.
* Check all connections before installing the automatic transmission selector to prevent electrical problems.
