Materials:

* Automatic transmission filter (catalog number: B1104003130)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (catalog number: B1104003300)
* Transmission fluid (approximately 4 liters)
* 10 and 12 mm socket wrenches
* Metal brush
* Gloves
* Rags

Tools:

* Liquid trap
* Torque wrench

Replacement procedure:

1. Preparing the car

* Place the car on a lift or use stands.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Draining transmission fluid

* Place a fluid trap under the automatic transmission pan.
* Unscrew the pan drain plug using a 12 mm wrench.
* Drain the liquid from the pan.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan

* Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the automatic transmission pan using a 10 mm wrench.
* Carefully remove the pan from the automatic transmission housing. This will cause a small amount of remaining liquid to flow out.

4. Filter replacement

* Unscrew the automatic transmission filter mounting bolts using a 10 mm wrench.
* Remove the old filter.
* Install the new filter in reverse order.

5. Installation of gasket and pan

* Remove the old gasket from the pan and automatic transmission housing using a metal brush.
* Install a new gasket on the pan.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the bolts to 12 Nm using a torque wrench.

6. Filling with transmission fluid

* Fill in new transmission fluid through the hole for the automatic transmission dipstick.
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift the gear selector to all positions and return to Park (P).
* Check the fluid level on the automatic transmission dipstick.
*Add fluid as necessary until the level reaches the HOT mark.

7. Battery connection

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

8. Reset automatic transmission adaptation (optional)

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 10 minutes.
* Reconnect the terminal and start the engine.
* Let the engine idle for 10 minutes.
* Shift the gear selector to all positions and return to Park (P).

Note:

* It is recommended to replace the automatic transmission filter every 60,000 – 80,000 km or as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
*Use only the recommended transmission fluid for your vehicle model.
* If you are not confident in your skills, it is better to contact a car service.
