Materials:
*Engine oil meeting SangYong specifications (for example, SsangYong Genuine ATF SP-III)
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* New drain plug o-ring
* Oil pan gasket
* Tools for changing automatic transmission oil (wrench, sockets, hex wrench)
* Funnel for oil filling
* Clean gloves
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Turn off the engine and park the car on a level surface.
* Wear clean gloves.
2. Draining old oil:
* Find the automatic transmission drain plug. It is located at the bottom of the gearbox.
* Place a container of at least 5 liters under the drain plug.
* Carefully unscrew the drain plug and drain the old oil.
* After waiting until the oil has completely drained, clean the drain plug and install a new O-ring.
3. Removing and replacing the oil filter:
* Remove the bolts holding the oil pipe.
* Remove the oil pipe and drain the remaining oil.
* Remove the old oil filter and screw on the new one by hand.
* Reinstall the oil pipe and tighten the bolts.
4. Removing and replacing the oil pan gasket:
* Loosen the oil pan mounting bolts.
* Carefully separate the oil pan from the transmission.
* Remove the old oil pan gasket and clean the surfaces.
* Install a new oil pan gasket.
5. Filling with new oil:
* Using a funnel, pour the recommended amount of new oil into the automatic transmission.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the «Min» and «Max» marks.
6. Inspection and cleaning:
* Check for oil leaks.
* Reset the transmission fault code (if applicable).
* Clean the work area.
Additionally:
* Automatic transmission oil should be changed every 60,000-80,000 km.
* It is also recommended to clean the automatic transmission pan every 120,000-160,000 km.
