General rules:
* Never shift into P (park) or R (reverse) while driving.
*Always come to a complete stop before shifting from forward to reverse and vice versa.
* Do not leave the vehicle in gear (D, N or R) while the engine is running.
* Make sure the gear shift lever is in P (Park) when you exit the vehicle.
* Only start the vehicle in P (park) or N (neutral).
When driving:
* Start driving in D (drive).
* Shift into higher gears as speed increases.
* To slow down, release the gas pedal and, if necessary, press the brake pedal.
* Coast in N (neutral) position only for short distances.
* Downshift when engine braking or driving on inclines.
Parking:
* Stop completely.
* Move the gear shift lever to P (park).
* Apply the parking brake.
* Turn off the engine.
Towing:
*Most automatic vehicles can be towed short distances (less than 80 km) at a speed of no more than 80 km/h.
*Refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for specific towing instructions.
*If possible, avoid towing for long periods of time or at high speeds.
Other important recommendations:
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly and top up if necessary.
* Change transmission fluid and filter according to your maintenance schedule.
* Do not press the accelerator pedal when changing gears.
* Avoid sudden acceleration and stopping.
* If you notice any problems with the transmission, contact your service center immediately.
