Rules for using an automatic transmission:

1. Gear shift

* Use the gearshift lever only when the vehicle is stopped or when driving at speeds less than 5 km/h.
*Press the brake button or pedal before shifting gears.
* To change gears to the desired position, move the gear shift lever to the appropriate position.

2. Gear selector positions

*P (Parking): Used to hold the vehicle in place when it is parked. Blocks the wheels.
* R (Reverse): Used to move the vehicle in reverse.
* N (Neutral): Transmits the engine but does not transmit torque to the wheels. Used when the car is not moving, for example, while parked at a traffic light.
* D (Drive): The main gear for moving the car forward. Automatically changes gears depending on speed and load.
* L (Low): Used to provide additional traction when driving on steep slopes or in off-road conditions.

3. Special modes

*S (Sport): Increases accelerator pedal response and shifts gears at higher engine speeds for a sportier driving experience.
* M (Manual): Allows the driver to manually change gears using the gear lever or steering wheel paddles.

4. Other functions

* Overdrive (OD): Available on select models, it provides lower engine speeds during highway driving, improving fuel economy.
* Hill Hold Function: Prevents the vehicle from rolling away when driving uphill or downhill.

5. Management

* Keep your left foot on the brake pedal or footrest, not on the gas pedal.
* Do not put the car in Park (P) mode while driving.
* Do not shift into reverse (R) while driving.
* Do not shift to neutral (N) while descending.
*Check the transmission fluid level regularly and service the transmission according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

6. Driving tips

* When stopping at a traffic light or in a traffic jam, switch to neutral (N) if the delay is more than 30 seconds.
* When driving for long periods of time off-road or with a trailer, shift to a lower gear to reduce the load on the transmission.
* Avoid aggressive acceleration and braking as this may cause wear to the transmission.
