Reset automatic transmission adaptation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport II

Warning: Perform this procedure only if you are confident in what you are doing. Mistakes can damage the transmission.

Materials:

* Diagnostic scanner with Mitsubishi support
* Battery or charger

Reset order:

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle’s OBDII port.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Select the Transmission Control Module (TCM) from the scan tool.
4. In the TCM menu, find the “Automatic transmission adaptation reset” function or similar.
5. Select this option and confirm the reset.
6. Wait for the reset to complete.
7. Turn off the ignition.
8. Disconnect the diagnostic scanner.
9. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
10. Perform a test drive to ensure proper operation of the automatic transmission.

Additional tips:

*Before resetting the adaptation, make sure that the transmission fluid level is normal.
*If resetting the adaptation does not solve the problem, contact a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
*Some diagnostic scanners may display additional reset options such as throttle adaptation or reset trouble codes. Follow the on-screen instructions on your scanner for these additional features.
