Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission solenoid
* Tool set
*Solenoid gaskets (if necessary)
* Lubricant for automatic transmission
* Rags

Procedure:

1. Prepare the car. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and place the vehicle on a lift or stands.

2. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the bolts of the automatic transmission pan and carefully remove it. Drain the transmission fluid into a clean pan.

3. Locate the solenoid. The solenoid is usually located inside the automatic transmission pan. It may look like a small cylinder with an electrical connector.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector. Push the electrical connector latch and pull it up to disconnect it from the solenoid.

5. Unscrew the solenoid. Use a socket wrench or wrench to carefully remove the solenoid from the transmission housing. When removing the solenoid, drain the remaining transmission fluid.

6. Clean the solenoid housing. Clean the solenoid housing of dirt and transmission fluid residue using a clean rag and flushing solvent.

7. Install a new solenoid. Apply a small amount of automatic transmission lubricant to the solenoid O-ring. Screw the new solenoid into the transmission housing by hand, and then tighten it with a tool.

8. Install the solenoid gaskets. If necessary, install new solenoid gaskets to the solenoid before installing it.

9. Connect the electrical connector. Connect the electrical connector to the solenoid by pressing until it clicks.

10. Install the automatic transmission pan. Install the automatic transmission pan gasket and secure the pan with bolts. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

11. Fill with transmission fluid. Fill the transmission fluid through the automatic transmission filler tube. The fluid level should correspond to the mark on the automatic transmission dipstick.

12. Connect the negative terminal of the battery. Connect the negative terminal of the battery and start the engine.

13. Check the transmission fluid level. Warm up the car to operating temperature and check the transmission fluid level using the automatic transmission dipstick. Add fluid if necessary.

14. Test the automatic transmission. Take the car for a test drive to check the operation of the automatic transmission and make sure there are no transmission fluid leaks.
